A tidy property starts at the boundary.

Mini-Trim helps Canterbury homeowners, lifestyle block owners and businesses stay on top of hedge maintenance with purpose-built equipment and a tidy finish every time.

Purpose-built equipment

Not every hedge needs the biggest machine. Mini-Trim is built to access places larger equipment often can’t.

A tidy finish, every time.

Straight lines, even cuts and attention to detail. Every property is treated with the same care, whether it’s a single boundary hedge or a full shelter belt.

From backyards to boundary lines.

From suburban homes and lifestyle blocks to commercial properties, Mini-Trim has the capability to take on jobs of all shapes and sizes.

Hedge trimming machinery for Canterbury properties

From residential hedges and lifestyle blocks to shelter belts, Mini-Trim has purpose-built machinery to suit the job. Different properties call for different equipment, so James can match the machine to the access, ground conditions and scale of the work.

CELESTE 250

For the tight spots.

Celeste is the smallest hedge trimming machine in the Mini-Trim fleet, built for the places larger machinery simply can’t get to.

Requiring just approximately 1.2 metres of access, she can work around homes, gardens and confined residential spaces while keeping impact on lawns and surrounding ground to a minimum.

Don’t let the size fool you. Celeste can trim hedge sides up to 3 metres high and cut tops just over 2 metres, making her a handy option for residential hedge trimming and regular hedge maintenance where access is tight.

1.2m - Approximate minimum access width

Up to 3m - Side trimming

Just over 2m - Hedge topping

1.05m - Cutting width

LIGHTWEIGHT TRACTOR

Light on the ground. Big on reach.

This lightweight tractor is a bit of an all-rounder. Small enough to work around homes, lawns and lifestyle blocks without making a mess of the property, but with the reach to take on larger hedges and shelter belts.

A sickle bar handles hedge sides up to 6 metres high, while the saw blade gives James the ability to cut heavier growth and top hedges at around 4 metres. At approximately 1800kgs, it keeps ground impact to a minimum and can get into areas where larger machinery simply isn’t practical.

For residential hedge trimming and lifestyle block maintenance, it’s often just the right amount of machine for the job.

Up to 6m - Side trimming

Around 4m - Hedge topping (with a width of 1.75m)

1800kgs - Lightweight footprint

Sickle bar + saw blade

10T WHEELED EXCAVATOR

For the bigger jobs.

The largest machine in the Mini-Trim fleet, the 10-tonne wheeled excavator gives James the reach and capability to take on larger shelter belts, hedge height reduction and tree removal work.

Fitted with a tree shear, it can handle softwood up to 300mm in diameter and hardwood up to 250mm. But hedge work is only part of what this machine is here for. With more than 20 years behind the controls of heavy machinery, James also puts the excavator to work on general digger jobs around lifestyle blocks and rural properties.

From clearing and property maintenance to auger work, it’s another way Mini-Trim can help get those bigger jobs off the list.

10 tonne - Wheeled excavator

Up to 300mm - Softwood tree shear capacity

Up to 250mm - Hardwood tree shear capacity

Up to 600mm - Auger available

Meet James, the man behind the machinery.

Owner operator of Mini-Trim for 4+ years, James brings more than 20 years’ experience operating heavy machinery across mining, civil and industrial environments.

Raised on a farm in Fox Glacier, working with machinery and on the land started early. James went on to spend more than a decade operating heavy equipment across mine sites in Western Australia and New Zealand, before moving into civil work and eventually establishing himself back in Canterbury.

It’s that combination of machinery experience and an agricultural background that shapes the way James approaches Mini-Trim today. He knows how to get the most out of the equipment, how to work around different properties and when a little extra care makes all the difference.

Whether it’s a long rural shelter belt or a hedge around the house, the approach is much the same: do the job properly and leave it tidy.
